Release 0.8 of the GUIDO NoteServer is now online. Many new features are available. Please look at the GUIDO NoteServer News for a full description of new features.
There is also a new standalone version of the GUIDO NoteViewer (0.8) for Windows available.

A new release of the standalone GUIDO NoteViewer, Version 0.2 for Windows 95/NT is now available for download. This release features spacing and justification of left and right margins.

Release 0.22 of the GUIDO NoteServer is now online. (same rendering engine as the standalone NoteViewer Version 0.2).

A Bugfix-Release of the standalone GUIDO NoteViewer, Version 0.1b for Windows 95/NT is now available for download.

The standalone GUIDO NoteViewer, Version 0.1 for Windows 95/NT is now available for download. It can be used to display, print, and edit GUIDO MusicNotation on systems running Windows 95/NT.

Release 0.21 of the GUIDO NoteServer is now online.

1998/10/22
gmn2midi (version 1.0), a public domain tool for converting gmn (GUIDO Music Notation) files into MIDI files, has been released. Executables for Windows, Linux, and OS/2 can be downloaded here.

GUIDO Music Notation and the GUIDO NoteServer were presented at the International Computer Music Conference 1998 in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We got lots of positive feedback and are very motivated to work on GUIDO Music Notation. The papers and slides from the conference talks can now be found in the GUIDO Documentation section.

As you might have noticed, we are somewhat behind the schedule regarding the announcements below because there have been some unexpected delays. But we are working on the stuff; by now, most of it has been released for project internal use. If you want to test the Basic GUIDO Parser Kit or the NoteServer Website, please contact Holger H. Announcements

Spring 1999
The midi2gmn converter will be released within the next weeks, including sources and executables for a number of platforms. We are currently working on a tool for converting GUIDO Music Notation to CSound score files and hope to release a first version soon. Work on the Advanced GUIDO Specification is nearing completion and we expect to release this within a few weeks along with the GUIDO Parser Kit and more examples.

Our group hosts the International Symposium on Adequate Music Representation Issues (SaMuReI-98). GUIDO-related issues and developments will be the main focus and unifying framework of the symposium. The programme includes technical talks and system demonstrations which are open to the public. Please visit the SaMuReI-98 homepage for details.

The GUIDO Parser Kit, conversion tools between GUIDO and MIDI data, more GUIDO examples, and Part 2 of the GUIDO Music Notation Format Specification (Advanced GUIDO) will be available on this website. The Parser Kit and the MIDI conversion tools are currently being tested by the SALIERI Project Team and our collaboration partners. The GUIDO NoteServer, an online WWW service, will be accessible via the GUIDO Website as well as in the form of a Java Applet. This service will allow the user to submit GUIDO files and have them displayed or delivered as graphic images of the corresponding score.
